Up until 1978 television broadcasts were mainly limited to large markets. In the late 60s and early 70s, some of the first exclusive channels like HBO, Nickelodeon and ESPN were created and this was a huge shift shift in TV. Before 2007, there weren’t many options for viewing video context where cable and satellite were pretty much the only options.
