Whipped up this super cute emote set for a lovely client She’s got her RAID! energy, confused moments, and all the love ready to drop in chat! She’s ready for stream life A set of three stylized, chibi-style emotes designed for use on streaming platforms (Twitch, Discord, etc.). The pack focuses on high-energy, positive, and engaging expressions essential for community interaction: a cheerful RAID callout, a curious Think expression, and a loving Heart Hype reaction.
Project Breakdown
Concept & Theme
The core concept was to create a set of relatable and visually clear expressions for a streamer's community interactions. The design uses a chibi art style to ensure maximum impact and readability even at small sizes. The palette is kept light and appealing, emphasizing warmth and approachability, which is vital for building a friendly community atmosphere.
Emote Designs
RAID: This emote is high-energy, featuring an open-mouthed smile, excited glasses, and a clear "RAID" sign. It's designed to be used when sending or receiving a raid, conveying excitement and welcoming the new viewers.
THINK: A classic community interaction emote. The character has a thoughtful pose, a slight squint, and floating red question marks above her head. This is used for confusion, deep thought, or seeking viewer answers.
HEART HYPE: This design focuses on shyness or intense affection. The character is peeking over a large red heart, with a blush on her cheeks and wide, loving eyes. It's ideal for expressing gratitude, love for a game, or an emotional reaction to a moment.
Art Process
Sketching: Began with simple shapes to establish the chibi proportions large head, small body ensuring the expressions dominated the design space.
Line Art: Used clean, thick outlines to make the characters pop, which helps maintain visibility when the emotes are scaled down.
Coloring: A limited, vibrant color palette was used for quick recognition: brown hair, pink accessories (headband), bright blue eyes, and primary red/white accents (sign, heart, question marks).
Detailing: Focused details on the eyes and hair to give the character personality, while keeping the rest of the design simple for clarity.
Background: The final presentation is on a soft, monochromatic pink background with a large, faded watermark of the character, which keeps the focus on the three main designs.
Tools Used
Software: Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator / Procreate.
Hardware: iPad Pro with Apple Pencil.
Brushes: Clean inking brushes for crisp lines, and solid fill/airbrush for smooth color application and gentle shadows.
