A poster that I did last year! Orangutan is one of my favorite animals, so I really enjoyed making this project, especially the illustration.
Raising awareness of wildlife: Orangutan critically endangered
Orangutan population decreased dramatically in the last 10 years, especially in this decade. The survey stated that only around 1,400 Sumatran orangutans remained. With that, orangutans are declared to be one of the species that almost extinct. One of the major threats to orangutans is the extinction of the rainforest which is their home.
Between 1950-2013, almost half of Indonesia's forests were cut down, initially 162 million to 82 million hectares. Illegal road building by cutting down trees in the forest is also one of the threats to orangutans. Trees are everything for orangutans, doing illegal logging is the same as killing orangutans slowly.

Green, orange, yellow and brown colors are analogous colors. These colors provide harmony when displayed together. the color of orangutan fur slightly in hyperbole becomes orange to give an 'anxious' impression of an endangered orangutan. I chose to highlight the words 'extinction' and contrasting 'before-after'. Green represents the rainforest, where the orangutan lives, which is dense and full of leaves, while the beige color represents dry, arid, forest that has been cut down and makes orangutans lose their homes, their shelter where they do everything. I also showed a sad expression because he losing his 'home', with his child in his arms. Through these colors, I can convey content through keywords that I have chosen.
