If you're still doing LARP readings, I'd like one please. A general spiritual one if you don't mind. Thank you either way. I think it's really neat that you're doing this. (If you would prefer a specific question: How can I find focus in my life?) Many happy returns of the day and your LARPing! ^_^
Ms. Fate (If I may address you as such.),The cards I drew regarding how you may focus yourself are, The High Priestess and Queen of Wands reversed. Right off the bat, I would say follow your intuition! It has the key to what you seek⦠(And one really should follow it. I didnāt and well⦠that didnāt end well for our group on Faerie.) Anyway, onto the Queen of Wands! I would be wary if you seem defensive. You want to be in control of yourself and your path, but donāt let it control you.Ā Much appreciation,Tertia, Decended Fae of the Seelie Court, Student to Green.Ā

Either deck is fine. A reading on my spiritual life would be great if you have time. Thank you very much, either way. Many happy returns of the day (if you had a good one).
Hello! Thank you very much, the same to you. I pulled one card for you.Ā
Three of Wands: Exploring the Unknown, New Adventures, Expanding Horizons, Providing Direction, Foresight, and Responsibility.Ā
It is all about the exploration. Keep learning. You are a student and you will only continue to grow if you continue to explore and absorb the knowledge that is out there. Exploring the unknown means taking something that you are unfamiliar with and understanding it. It will not be unknown to you forever. You have the power and the drive to grow your spirituality.Ā
Feedback is always appreciated. I genuinely wish you luck on your journey and know that it will be a wonderful one. Thank you.Ā
If I'm not too late, may I have an intuitive reading. If not, that's okay. Have a great night either way! ^_^
Nope! Well, you weren't late last night. xD Thank you for your super sweet manners. It makes me really like doing these.Boy, you have a lot going on with you! Hah. I have trouble grabbing onto one singular scene for you, but eventually I'm able to find one that sticks out more than the others.I'm standing in front of a vast open sky. Deep blues, lit up by what should be a million twinkling stars, are actually illuminated by a singular ball of light. It's fast, flooded with the power of life and creativity, as it barrels right towards me. I'm told not to worry. I close my eyes and let it splash into me, flurries of light swirling around me. None of it burns. Only chills. I'm left smiling.Hope that helps!

Someone asked:Ā It came up in a reading that someone did for me a while ago that maybe I should work with fairies. I was wondering if you would be able to do a reading to see if they would be helpful to me on my path. Also, my house is a mess! I can't imagine any fairy wanting to work with me. How did you get started?
Letās start with you, first, and work our way around to my stories.Ā
Hereās the issue, generally speaking. āFairy,ā or āfaerie,ā or āfae,ā is so wide a term that I honestly donāt think thereās a way to accurately divine whether they would be helpful or accepting to you. Itās like asking whether āpeopleā would be helpful. Looks like philosophical nonsense, amirite? Way too wide, far too many variables.
That said, and this may seem a bit daft, ācause it could quite literally be exactly what you meant, a more accurate divination could be given right now by asking instead whether the pursuit of spirit work, specifically with the fae, would be helpful to your path right now, and if youāre ready for it. I bolded that word to distinguish the fact that, in all likelihood, it is the pursuit itself that would gain you experience and wisdom. The Fair Folk themselves may not help you with anything, and they donāt need to. Shit, you may never even meet any, or they might not look at you twice.
I donāt mean to insinuate that youāre doing so, but looking at them primarily as resources and potential helpmeets instead of as individuals is not a good way to go about it, in my opinion. Not only does it unnecessarily de-emphasize their agency (scowlyface), but it also smacks of exchange and contracts, which should both be avoided like the godsdamned plague unless (until?) you really know your stuff. Either way, not a great plan. Thatās why I emphasize the pursuit itself as the reward, not what you might gain from the People themselves.Ā
The few rules and generalizations about them that existā and there are but fewā rely fundamentally on caution with the changeability of their nature, and how different they are from us.
It is therefore my argument that you base your decision to begin on whether or not you want to attempt to work with them. Start there, with research and the aforementioned pursuit, and see if it seems like a path that youād like to try. If you should meet one, take them as individuals instead of a collective, and decide on a case-by-case basis. In this circumstance, divination would indeed be more helpful. It would then help you understand their intentions, see past any potential trickery, and judge whether or not to pursue some sort of relationship, if they wish to interact with you. In that way, itās like any other friendship, if one of those friends can curdle milk, occasionally steals children, and dyes their clothing in blood for funsies.
Narrowing things down would also be helpful. Do you mean to travel to the other side to interact with them there? Or will you instead search for those that either live in, or regularly visit, our plane? Or, you know, all of the above? These distinctions can determine how you begin, but thereās a lot more besides. (Especially if, yes, you mean them to enter your home! My brownie friends donāt live in my house right now, specifically because Iām so messy. They stayed for a week and stole six cards from my then-favorite tarot deck as protest until we negotiated a truce. They live in the shrubbery [Ni! Ni!] and on our porches for now. Did I get those cards back? No.)
They are innumerable and, in my own belief, more varied than we could ever adequately categorize. Yet lore and experienced wonderlings can give us a wealth of information on types, tendencies, and individuals.
For lore, you canāt go wrong with sacred-texts. Admittedly, this hits more on the British Isles side of things, but Iāve found the works of William Butler Yeats and several from the Celtic index to be both enchanting and helpful. Iām also totally loving Andrew Langās fairy books. Fairy tales, man. They are where itās at.
As soon as I gather good resources for non-Irish/English/Welsh/etc resources, Iāll add them. My bookmarks are sadly lacking. Bad Lily.
As far as experienced wonderlings are concerned, every mod at modernguidetothefairfolk is well-versed and wise, to start with. Check out this post and its successor from gardenofthequeen to get at more details on how to begin, along with wonderful links on how she categorizes fae. See also spiritscraftās wonderfully succinct answer on astral travel, and duskenpathās blogspot on the same.
Additionally, Iāve learned a lot just from reading what other people write and collect about their experiences, here and Elsewhere. I could start naming the people whoāve penned beautiful and illuminating accounts of their experiences, but then we would be here even longer than we have been. (Iād do it, though. Oh, I would. Youāre aaaaall wonderful. Deal with it.) But seriously, itās like a new realm of lore is being written by all of us.
So, there you go, far longer than it should have been. I really do hope this helps. Looks like my origin story is going to have to be its own post. Schwups.
TL;DR: Research, research, research, protect yourself, seek some out, and see what you may find while continuing to protect yourself.
On our next episode,Ā āāShouldā Is A Relative Term,ā weāll find out what the hell our host is even doing talking about faeries.
