of course it was always about them; the priest and felix were bonded. the priest had the marking to prove it, they’d given their name away. they're bonded and i'm just...............here. a great weight fell on his heart. he would never have something like that. he wasn't meant to; his name had never been his and it would never be his to give away. he was just a weapon, a demon, a monster; under the court's control. why did it matter, anyway? the only feelings he knew were anger, hatred, and pain. he didn't like it when someone tried to get close to him. it was... scary, unfamiliar. but still...... he wanted closeness.. he wanted to be wanted. no one had ever wanted him, not really. but there was someone that could make him feel better, that could take the pain away. thomas. the demon liked him. the undead boy could make him sink into a calm numbness in only a few moments. it was better than feeling awful, unwanted, hurt. even the priest couldn't do that. they knew how to give life, feeling. thomas could take away. slowly, he pulled himself up onto his feet and went across the room to the door. he went back through the living room, where sure enough thomas was on the couch playing video games, as usual. the demon approached quietly and sat with him; eventually leaned against him. he might not be happy, but he didn't feel unwanted here, next to thomas. they sat together in comfortable silence.
