again, this got long because there is so much to unpack here so Iām using a readmore
thinks of himself as naĆÆve and stupid at the start, because when he was first created he was devoted to his master
his master didnāt care for him and only used him to kill āfallen godsā for money, which hurt and scarred him but he did it happily anyway because it was for his master
even though he was doing everything his master wanted him to do without complaint, hurting himself in the process, his master never praised him and only berated him for not being good enough
The master told minestrone that he had ādreams of saving the worldā but would first start with the island, but that was a lie to get minestrone to comply in getting him more money (by selling theĀ āfallen godsā)
The master betrayed minestrone by sending him out to kill a fallen god, and when minestrone returned, he was caught in a trap and taken away by evil cultists, which his master had sold him toĀ
When he was first caught, he thought his master would come and save him, but then he found out that it was his master who had set this up
He was taken to some place and put in a cage and kept in total darkness for a few years,Ā during which he tried to escape several times, but each time, he was caught and sentenced to āsevere punishmentā meaning torture
was drained of blood and kept weak
resisted fiercely, rebelled, and was defiant for his first few years, which lead to him being tortured more and also mocked for being aĀ ābeastāĀ
he stops rebelling after the first few years and decides to comply, which makes the torturers think heās given up, but heās actually biding his time and trying to think of a strategy for how to get out of there
he was taken out of the dark cage and brought somewhere else due to his behavior of now calmly accepting their torture, except precautions were still taken and he was put in a straitjacket
by complying for so long after this and not disobeying once, the cultists there tell him the purpose of why they're doing all this: to create a god from his body (but they need him to volunteer for it and have him be willing)
knows he needs these peopleās full trust to leave this place alive, thatās why he volunteers to be a subject in their experiment of trying to make him into a god
the attitude of the people toward him improved, he got better sustenance, but they still hurt him because they needed to draw blood from his heart now, which was incredibly painful for him
the cultists made clones of him to test their experiments on, so they wouldnāt destroy the real food soul before they got the method right
he gouged out his own eye in order to disguise as one of the clones (the cultists were able to tell the real food soul apart from the fakes because they would gouge out one eye from each clone)
the real Minestrone gouged out his own eye, gave it to a replica so it could pretend to be the real one, and Minestrone could pretend to be a fake, which would be discarded after the experiment (his escape)
was experimented on and turned into aĀ āmonsterāĀ
After he escaped, his body was heavily injured and he had to spend a lot of time recoveringĀ
Body and soul were irreparably damaged and he now has to feed on suffering and negative energy, which causes great harm to those around him, even a cataclysmic event leading to lots of deaths (he has to feed off this suffering in order to live)
the people he was rescued by after escaping the experiments are now afraid of him and try to get rid of him
ran away from the people who had rescued him, went in a cave to hide, found himself a plant called the āflower of evilā that generates negative emotions by creating nightmares, used as a mechanism for hunting so that prey will die in a nightmare. The flower ātempts him with revengeā which he accepts, even if it means he will have nightmares every night (it generates enough negative energy through the nightmares so he can survive without hurting others)Ā
goes back to his home island and kills literally everybody there for revenge
Bedlam AU - Jekyll breaks due to the hallucinations and kinda tears himself up during a mental breakdown. He gets found right before it's too late and, miraculously, saved, but once they realize his wounds were self-inflicted they toss him into Bethlem Asylum/Bethlem Royal Hospital.
