a rant by ticked off teenagers :) to TV show writers.
Hello dear TV show writers and producers and whatever. This is a young female viewer who has been watching your shitty shows since 2014 (I think?)
SUPERNATURAL- and its eternal queerbaiting
This show led by white men has one female character every 10 episodes and she dies almost every time. Let's talk about about Claire, you don't give her screen time AND YOU DIMT EVEN LET HER TALK TO CASTIEL. MOVING ON, LETS MENTION YOUR QUEERBAITING. I SEE WHAT YOU ARE DOING WITH DEAN AJD CASTIEL AND IT IS NOT FINE. you think straight men just stare at each other like that???? Frankly I find this offensive to my community. CASTIEL is an angel he does not have an awareness of human norms, so why would he be straight by default? The fact that you made him heterosexual is offensive to me because YOU HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO SOMETHING NEW BUT YOU ALL JUST STAYED BAITING.
Bury your gays (because that's cool)
Honestly I don't even watch the 100 but I get offended every time I see it being successful
-you killed off Lexa, a lesbian main character who was an important source of representation in your mayonnaise network. FILLED WITH WHITE CRACKERS.
Talking about Riverdale, your new 'guilty pleasure' high school show. Love it so much but WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Let's not get into the shitty characterisation of your main. Jughead. He's asexual on the comics, which has been explicitly stated numerous times. BUT OF COURSE YOU CHOOSE THE STRAIGHTEST PATH AND MAKE BUGHEAD A THING. I appreciate your 'efforts' at diversity but you aren't even trying. You had the freedom of choosing what version of themselves the characters would be and you chose to make everyone other than a minor supporting character STRAIGHT. Kevin Keller has got like a really small amount of screen time compared to your boring main (about Archie, he had the potential to be so much more but you RUINED IT yet again). Your main het couples get amazing character development and cute moments in the balcony but Kevin and Joaquin do not even get to have a proper conversation without EVERYONE cutting in. Even them making out was near a dumpster. Are you trying to give your audience some kind of impression?
Betty and Veronica have been 'forged forever'. She sent her flowers and got her cupcakes and Archie didn't do a quarter of those things and yet he gets to be the one that Betty crushes on. HE GETS TO BE THE ONE WHO VERONICA KISSES. 🤢 moving on to that unnecessary kiss. What was that??? What are you trying??? If you want them to be together you better go all the way or I will personally punch your faces.
Coming back to Jughead, his relationship with Betty was really forced and quite out of character. I get that you're straying away from the comics but you cannot just put these two characters together that were supposed to platonic pals.
Maggie and Alex are the healthiest relationship on your show supergirl but choose to focus on the HETS YET AGAIN. Kara and Mon el can focus on their problems off screen because we don't care. We want to see sanvers continue to be healthy and get more screen time. You release a promo and that promo gives away like half of their scenes leaving us with 3 minutes of footage to watch without expecting it. Which is really disrespectful. You can make the former slave owner and the noble lead of the show break up and make up a thousand times but we don't care about mon el. He got together with Kara within two episodes but it took you two seasons to even consider giving Alex a love interest and then you introduce the love interest and stop with all development after they get together! Who told you that we care about mon el more than Alex, who we have got to see since the first episode. We watched her grow as a person and then you ignore her for some guy from some other planet who has to fulfill the role of love interest. Which is very forced by the way. Why do you have to make Lena Luthor so gay? She's a new character who has potentials very similar to mon el but he gets all the attention instead of her? Where is her storyline? You've made her a series regular for all that BAITING I presume. above all this, she's a wonderful woman who's successfully handling a company and yet in your 'feminist' show you give more screen time to that white boy (mayonnaise el).
