Be the first one to dance. You know everyone is waiting to get out there. It is why we all came. You may be labeled crazy, but I will call you brave. . . In a room full of people nervously rocking a hip, maybe tapping a foot, as they wait for the drugs to kick in, or to down another drink, something anything to get the anxiety down, to get the thoughts to stop, anything anything to be able to just chill.. waiting for the moment so that they too can dillute themselves enough to walk out onto the dance floor, drowning in some false form of connection . . . You know that it all feels shallow and dirty at some point... I say get in there sober. Be seen. Be insecure, nervous, anxious, start from where you are.. close your eyes.. Let the horns take over the torso, let the keyboard slide under your feet, the drums rock the hips, vocalist adds in the jazz hands. . . self soothe your inner angst. Let the music move you.. let go... it all looks and feels ridiculous. and then you open your eyes, more brave souls have joined. You share a knowing smile. And the dance floor is instantly a safe place, for us all to wiggle out whatever it is that drags us out at night. Together. Separately. Each in our own bubbles. Be authentic in your movement, and nothing can be more beautiful. #dancefreely #stopnumbing #feelitall #adrenalinerush #keyboardsnazzy #playsober it is way more thrilling. Where in your life are you trying not to feel?
