Net Neutrality.
For those of you who don't know what's going on with net neutrality, listen up. Net neutrality is something that the government is willing to throw away so large companies can line their pockets further than they already have. Net neutrality is being able to go through the internet freely, being able to read what you want, do what you want, and be able to do things on the internet like watch movies, go on facebook, read the news or even play games. What FCC (Federal Communications Commission) wants to do is take that away. Have your service providers charge you for the use of google, netflix, facebook, tumblr, and pretty much any website that right now is free. While that seems to be something bad on its own, they are also willing to censor out news articles that don't agree with their own views. If AT&T doesn't agree with statements about something that is going on in the political world, they will block you from seeing pages that will show people who share the same opinions that you have AND hide written articles that were posted in newspapers or magazines. Another thing that is happening is that if you want to change companies from one provider to another, they will block your access. If you're thinking about changing from AT&T to Sprint or something, they will deny your access and make you stay with them. Small business owners, people who are making a living on eBay or Etsy, they could lose their ways of making an income with this strain on net neutrality. By making small companies pay an extra start up fee, they could lose everything.
We already have most of the country trying to protect net neutrality and we have leaders of other countries trying to stop this, but the more educated you can get about net neutrality the better. Net neutrality is a type of freedom that we should be allowed, not something we should have to pay for.
