Hearing birds chirp at night is so surreal to me, tbh.
look I understand that birds are just trying to be the best they can be but at THREE AM IN FUXKING MORNING??? WORST BIRDS EVER
.
SO. It's been a little less than a month, and I've:
Exercised....almost never, apart from the occasional half-hour work out.
Lived an exceedingly sedentary lifestyle, mostly involving sitting in front of my laptop.
No calorie counting.
No precise carb-counting beyond a quick glance at whether something 'probably' could fit into a daily meal.
Ate/drank full-cream milk, egg yolks, mayonnaise, etc.
Bought a sausage roll and ate it because I wanted to.
Bought two strawberry custard buns because I wanted to.
Bought fried chicken.
Grumbled 'I don't believe in depriving myself' the entire time.
And I've also:
Lost about 9 lbs anyway.
So.
Everybody's metabolism works differently and everybody has different resources available to them, but I can at least say it doesn't always need to be a painful slog.
(The below is unnecessary rambling).

The birds outside my window are severely confused. It is 1AM and dark outside. Stop chirping!
it's 7:30am and the birds are mocking me
