#stook

Well if youre curious... here's the first one I ever made! I'll just transcribe the intro page:

This is Stook. I've been drawing him forever! My first full-page drawing in my first real sketchbook was him. Really helped my confidence. I change his pronouns a lot, he's just a martian! Genderless.

And here is that old sketchbook page! Really glad I got a scan of it (can you tell how stiff i was with digital art? the sketch looks way better) God I was like... 16? 17?? When I drew this one. I didn't start really drawing it again until college

His name, and really him as a character, was literally made when I was taking notes in college. Almost all of my drawings of him are just from my notebooks. Like, you can see the notes around and behind most of them lol.

"Stook" was just my history professor trying to say the past-tense of "stuck" as a verb I guess. And of course I kept saying it forever after that. Lots of quotes from class are what inspired my doodling them both.

And I can't introduce Stook without mentioning Fafter, another martian of mine. They're kind of a package deal. I actually started a comic about them but never finished it. Here's some of their wacky adventures together, pasted into a small notebook of their origins
