One of the things I just reblogged reminded me of something I thought of today.
For the first time, in a long time, I'm actually letting myself get excited about something.
You see, normally I just do not let myself get excited for things, because nothing ever goes right in my life, and just the pain and despair of getting excited for something and it not happening was just too much. So now, I'm pretty much neutral about everything. Even though I care, I just cannot set myself up for disappointment.
But I am so excited for the new year. SOOOOOO EXCITED.
I start a new Geology course in January.
GAC/MAC is in May.
Global Geopark Conference is in September in MY CITY.
So for sure I will be taking the Geology class, and the conference in September I for sure can go to, seeing as it is in my city.
GAC/MAC, well, that's currently still up in the air whether or not I'll be able to go. But it's looking like a pretty strong yes. The only thing it's hinging on is if I get a car, and unless something goes horribly wrong in my life, I will be getting a car in January.
And other than that, I just have to run the whole "driving to Fredericton by myself" bit by my Dad. And I wouldn't even be staying in Freddy anyway, since it would be cheaper for me to just drive the hour back and forth each day. I feel like my Dad might be pretty hesitant towards it, but because it's such a big awesome opportunity, and I don't get many of those, he'll probably let me go.
So yes, I am so excited for all this. Anytime I start thinking of it, I feel like I could scream.
