So poor Boo scared me this weekend. After we got home from Thanksgiving travels on Saturday, he was acting all shaky and I thought he had too many watery poops…. I was scared he had caught a cold or something while traveling. So to the first open appointment with Dr. Kersting’s we went! He got a thorough checkup and clear gramstain. He started acting earlier today, but for my mental health we didn’t cancel. We’re watching him, but think he was feeding on my angsty mood and was stressed from the long car ride. He dived down my coat sleeve when Dr. K’s assistant missed toweling him from the travel cage! He also had a stress seizure while there, which he’s had a few times (and we got thoroughly checked out in 2021). GOOD NEWS: Boo is officially healthy again!! His x-rays were clear and his red blood cell count is back to the unambiguous middle of the healthy normal zone!!! I'm so incredibly relieved that he's as healthy as he's been acting. This has been so incredibly stressful and I'm glad it's resolved with the best of outcomes 💗💗💗💗. Misha had so much fun yesterday! He met another cockatoo, and a pony, but eating (stealing off my spoon) my ice cream from Ices Plain & Fancy was by far his most favorite part of the day. Boo has his checkup! He’s about 80% better and needs to be medicated with the terbinafine (antifungal) for another 2 months atleast when we’ll go in for another check. He’s apparently - per the X-ray - been swallowing dense wood or plastic, so I need to watch him extra close. Dr K said it will pass but (as his bff human mom) it still has me concerned. It’s not metal or rope though.
