Stitch Head is my son trust
yeah so controversial take maybe, but Stitch Head (2025) had way more to interesting things say about child neglect than Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein (2025). Like yeah it was a kids movie and the dialogue is at that level, but it touches on so many topics- child neglect, parentification, religious trauma- and their interrelations and effects. And it does it without ever making the scientist cartoonishly evil or straight up telling the audience that the scientist is *really the monster*. Oh, or having the abused creation forgive and comfort his abuser at the end!

Stitch head
By Guy Bass
In the maze-like dungeons of Castle Grotteskew, the frightfully insane Professor Erasmus conducts his bizarre experiments on living things. His very first creation has been long forgotten - a small, almost-human creature, known only as Stitch Head. Poor Stitch Head has spent years vying for attention amongst a menagerie of freakish monsters. When a travelling circus ringmaster, Fulbert Freakfinder, promises to make him a star, Stitch Head wonders whether there is another life for him. But first he has to catch the professor's latest creation - a monstrous three-armed creature that's just smashed its way to freedom . . .
Even he was weirded tf out
It’s Stitch Head!
After reading the graphic novel version of the first book of the series, I must say he’s adorable and with a good heart! I’ll try to read the remaining books!
Oh, and he now has a movie adaptation, too 🙂
