If you’ve been wanting to try a Croatian wine, this might be your best introductory wine. $14 for a very balanced red wine anchored by indigenous grape Plavac Mali but with 30% contribution from some international varietals. A ridiculously good wine for this price. This 2018 Cuvée red from Stina Winery is inspired by the Super Tuscan wines in Italy, but in this case this Croatian blends a Plavac Mali with Cab, Merlot and Syrah. If you haven't ventured to try Croatian wine, this would be an approachable one to start with. Did I mention it’s 14 freaking dollars! ———————————————— Tasting notes: With Plavac Mali as the primary varietal, this wine has nice tannins and earthiness that would be expected from the varietal. But the international varietals give this wine nice balance and a smooth texture. Strong aromatics of red and black fruits, Mediterranean spices and a hint of earth. On the palate, flavors of dark fruits, chocolate and tobacco. It’s a young wine so decant it for 30 minutes. ———————————————- #stinavino #stinacuvee #stinavinarija #brac #islandofbrač #islandofbrac #plavacmali #sipwithus #winesofcroatia #wineboss #winelady #womeninwine #womeninwinebusiness #womenwhowine #womenwholovewine https://www.instagram.com/p/B1rAf6pnEK1/?igshid=1120z53yh8gvq
