My luck runs thick and I am often invited to experience wonderful things. Last week Saturday was no different when I won a competition and became one of the fortunate few to enjoy the Focus #STExperience hosted by Ford South Africa.

I'd entered the competition on Twitter after seeing that it would involve fast cars, experienced rally drivers and the rather dusty and great outdoors. Three things that  appeal to me. Also given that I rather badly need to upgrade my beloved car. 

Ford South Africa hosted four groups of approximately fifty people in Port Elizabeth, Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg to preview the new Focus ST1 and ST3. The Cape Town group was hosted at the Fisantekraal Airstrip where Ford has set up tents with a lounge, demo cars and the most divine lunch.  We attended a presentation on the car and its impressive specs, before being taken for a drive on one of the vacant airstrips by a professional rally driver.

My driver is on the World Rally Circuit, is sponsored by FORD and handled that Focus ST in the most thrilling manner. Calmly taking us through the three driving modes, rushing the chicane and skidding around the bend at over 100km per hour, whilst answering girly questions from me! I was in love - and then there was that beautiful capable ST!

What a treat! What a rush! This is a seriously impressive car. Actually even once I'd had my #STExperience I lingered and listened to the purr and the power and watched in admiration at the way the car handles and those handling it. Least I'm getting is a professional drivers course.
