aah i’m so sorry i’ve only just seen this!! 

but omg thank you!! unfortunately yeah, he did get a lot of hate when i first joined the fandom (but that was like three years ago holy shiiiit how even, i remember it like it was yesterday) whereas now it’s clear that people still prefer rossi bc they leave gideon out of sets and include p much all of the other former characters still if that makes sense? 

and yES DAMN FUCKIN STRAIGHT HE WASN’T A BRICK!! there were so many emotions mandy used in his eyes i’m just so !!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

First impression of each other? Was it love at first sight?

Oh god, no. Ian came in as a new(er) teacher to the school, and Barbara wasn’t much impressed. He was reasonably handsome, sure, but she thought he was probably a bit obnoxious. Ian thought Barbara quiet. After a few years of working together, they had a decent mutual respect going.

What do the like best about their partner?

Ian appreciates Barbara’s honesty and clarity-her ability to see exactly what’s going on and say it. Barbara appreciates Ian’s compassion, and how he protects others.

Anything they both dread?

Well, both of them dreaded never being able to go home, or someone dying when they were on the TARDIS. After going home, it was something happening to the other, or, even later, one of their children.

How adventurous are they?

Well, after travelling, they’re both brave, but not really adventurous. They feel wistful sometimes for the exciting life they lived before, but mostly kind of adventured out. That doesn’t mean they’re not afraid to face danger, just not prone to seek it out.

How do the handle disasters or emergencies? Minor injuries? Sickness?

Barbara becomes quietly but obviously concerned, and does her best to handle the problem as it presents itself. Ian tries to take on the problem aggressively and proactively to protect others, occasionally at risk to himself.

Do they finish each other’s sentences? Pick up any phrases or habits from each other? Know when the other is hiding something?
