Steven is controlling his cap-shell movement. Think of it as a sort of shapeshifting, if you will! In fact, he’s going to use it like that a lot, later, once he gets the hang of it.Steven, in this universe, is part gem in pretty much every single cell in his body. The center of a gem’s being is very different in this AU, and you’ve already seen hints of what that is. Pearl will likely explain it to you all once she calms down.

I’m reading this chart as saying 5′5″, so I’m going to say teen Grey is about 5 ft 3.5 in.

A/n: Rose died the same way. By having Steven. Thing is that the fungal gems aren’t at all artificial. So she died. Fully. 100%. She isn’t in there anywhere, and there’s no way to claim that any part of her consciousness could be there. No gemstone, no hard-drive her memory files are saved in on his body anywhere. His identity crisis is different. How his body works is different. His understanding of how his body works is different. His understanding of who is around him is different. The questions he asks are different. The way he feels about it all will change accordingly. The resulting trauma also changes accordingly.

A/n: Boy oh boy... You guys are reaching some fun and interesting topics. What I will say is that Steven’s only differences, which are very few, are based in him being entirely flesh instead of partly light-based. This does mean that there are some differences in how Rose functioned, and how Rose managed to have Steven in the first place. So, basically, his Mommy Issues are a little different... And you know how Steven is with his Mommy Issues.

“You telling me how I feel” vs “You guys telling me how I feel” Then Grey Steven’s rant starts with “Shut up,” which Canon Steven never says.It goes like this: “Shut up, just shut up! What even is it with you, Pearl? You never listen to me! What if I’m right, huh? What would you do then?” Pearl’s word in edgewise is canon dialogue, and Grey Steven’s only diverges very slightly from canon in that he interrupts her, and says “No! You don’t know what I’m talking about!” instead of the canon “It sounds like maybe you don’t know what I’m talking about.” There is no stunned silence from the other gems, no grunt of frustration from Pearl, and instead, Garnet interrupts much more immediately. In the Grey version of the scene, Steven is more explosive, the gems don’t seem to see it as nearly as much of a surprise, and he’s extremely focused on Pearl.
