Lindi woke up, her head heavy, her mouth horribly tacky, like she was chewing on sand-filled cotton balls. She grumbled as she came to, a blue-tinged light assaulting her eyes. Everything was bleary and washed out, her eyes were horribly crusty. Lindi rubbed her eyelids, feeling coming to her body. Her neck had a horrible crick to it, and she was freezing. Freezing, apart from the solid, radiant heat of a body next to her. A body she had absolutely no memory of falling asleep next to.

Lindi forced her eyes open, wincing as that sent a sensation of a needle gouging out her brain. She looked to the side, surprised to see Steve next to her. And they were both wearing their clothes but… What the hell was that next to his hip. A… metal cuff? Lindi looked around them, her usually quick thoughts noticeably lagging as she tried to make sense of everything. They weren't in the bungalow, or anywhere she recognised from the beach.

"Steve?" Lindi croaked, sitting up and nearly taking a tumble straight off the narrow bed frame they had cosied up on. She steadied herself, and then reached out to shake Steve's shoulder. Gently, and then more insistently until he woke up. "Steve. Steve! Where the hell are we… what… what happened?" Her mind was a blank, an abyss. Except, wait, she remembered…

…Being curled up on the couch of her bungalow, trying to read the paperback of Les Miserables with little success, when someone knocked on the door. "Come in," she'd called. She'd smiled wide when she saw it was Steve, his lips pursed into a self-satisfied smile. She'd arched her eyebrows when she'd seen the bottles he carried under his arm. "And what's this?" "Now, Lindi, darling, I think there's a few things we have to catch up on."

And then…

… Her laughter bouncing off rock walls, her phone flashlight shaking from the force of her mirth, her eyes burning as tears leaked out…

But there was also…

"I mean… no one was even there! All the students had gone home for the day, and we were both there, and bored… and horny… And Claire locked the door-"
