I'm kind of obsessed with this ealy concept art of Paulina by Stephen Silver, especially if you compare it to Sam's concept art, which isn't even that different from her final design.
Don't you get the impression that Paulina was initially conceived as an even bigger foil to Sam and they wanted to reflect that in their designs?
Because, if you think about it, Paulina's design here is essentially a preppy version of Sam's.
Similar top and skirt combination that leaves her midriff exposed.
Sneakers instead of combat boots.
A less clunky belt.
A hairpin instead of a ponytail.
More similar hairstyles as opposed to canon's long, wavy hair.
A more pronounced use of makeup like in canon...
It's fascinating! It's like they really wanted us to understand that Sam and Paulina are as similar as they are opposites through visual storytelling.
Stephen silver is so talented and I am such a fan of Kim possible ( childhood ) still watch episodes with my brother 💙
Stephen Silver Art Study: Zero
First character I tried with the art study! Not much changed honestly! Except some of the clothes and shapes!
More to follow!
I got Stephen Silver's 'Character Design Roughs' book recently, and felt inspired to redraw some of his early Danny Phantom sketches! I drew these on paper and coloured them with watercolour. It was a lot of fun!

The "Rough Character Design" book Stephen Silver recently released has finally arrived. Although I was too late for the Kickstarter, it was available to purchase and I took that opening to buy it.
I am in awe of the gorgeous concept work for Clerks, Kim Possible and especially; Danny Phantom, one of the greatest Nickelodeon shows off all time! Splendid advice made, Mr. Silver. I can really learn a lot from it.
