Hasbroâs in-house crowdfunding for the new version of Heroquest closes November 6, 2020. Overall it appears to be the same game with the addition of some stretch goal options and some new quests including a quest book by original designer Stephen Baker. The character and monster miniatures are updated to a more modern style. The chaos warriors now are called âdread warriorsâ and the fimir are replaced by âabominationsâ (fishfolk/deep ones), presumably due to this edition not being a partnership with Games Workshop like the â80s-â90s products. The terrain pieces are faithful to the design of the originals, though are now all-plastic instead of partially cardstock. The box art is new but closely copies Les Edwardsâ classic battle scene. It ships in 2021 only to the US and Canada (but not Quebec), no doubt disappointing some of the most fanatical fans world-wide.
