Ice skating rink, not ring (1994)
Now this was one thing I had never thought I would do a wee while after arriving in Glasgow - ice skating. It was also my first time learning that one skated on the ice skating rink (though I had “ring” in my head) - Hey, all we had back in Aloq Setaq was ice "kacang". That was how ignorant I was back then. I’m not sure about the others, but seeing how everyone did that night, I thought I wasn’t that bad, despite moving like the C-3PO on ice.
It was all Farilla’s bright idea once she found out about the rink at the St. Enoch Shopping Centre. Of course, she was moving like a speed skater compared to us boys. OK .. I may have exaggerated a bit here ;)
The next day was tough. I had muscle soreness, bruises everywhere and my ankle was the worst ... that’s still clear in my memory.
