So Iâm doing a Halloween activity in a couple of weeks and needed one more 20-25 minute session of activities. Because I work for the Girl Scouts, I decided to fish something out of the badges that could be warped into something spooky and still science-y.
Armed with this vague desire, I opened my first choice of badge, Entertainment Technology, and found one. Then I did Space Science and got a two-for-one badge activity.
This is how âWerewolves and Vampiresâ the STEM activity was born: a moon sky book for werewolves (will be adding a werewolf to the phase where they change) and fake blood for vampires (yes, this is actually a badge activity in a way).
Your Guide to Origami Success
Not sure if any of my followers are into origami at all but I figured Iâd plop this down on my dash.
Basically my husband has spent 2 years making this website himself. He even created a few models himself and hand drew all the diagrams digitally. It makes it super easy to learn origami and has increasingly advanced models for those who already do it.
For any teachers on here looking for STEAM or STEM activities for lesson plans, did you know that origami counts as both an engineering and art activity? All models are currently science and/or nature based. Heâs working on some geeky models for the future!
Exam season is here and I have started cramming (and I have to finish another report)â¨
why are exams in the middle of summerđ
I read quite a few of the papers I needed and this experimental protocol might even get itself done
also, has it ever happened to you, that you forgot which DNA ladder you used and then you try match your result to a ladder to figure it outđ

So I titled an event Science and [cookies] and now Iâm trying to come up with cookie-themed experiments (I really just need one). The top two contenders are strengths testing/a mechanical activity and a digestion activity.
Since everyone is thrilled with the idea of me letting Brownies stick various cookies in acid to âdigestâ it, sounds like thatâs the winner.
Or maybe theyâre just shocked at the idea Iâd let small children experiment with strong acid.
