For the "No excuses" writing meme - Alex and Henry are alone in a small room and the door is stuck and refuses to open
[insert prompt here] ā you post a prompt, and iāll write three sentences based on that prompt, set in the same time/setting as my current project
I set this in the Doctor Who AU time/setting because why the fuck not:
"What do you mean it won't open?"
"I don't know what you think was unclear, exactly, but what I mean is that the bloody door won't open!" Henry tugs again, just in case, but it absolutely refuses to budge.
Christ, what he wouldn't give for a sonic screwdriver right about now.

Go to karaoke song? (either yours or, if you don't karaoke, pick a character and say what theirs is and why)
I couldn't do karaoke the one time I had the chance to (I was a little sick) but I would have done Love Story by Taylor Swift because my friend is a fan and it was also her bachelorette party lol. it's easier to get away with sounding bad at karaoke when you do songs everyone will sing along to! on a night I'm really feeling myself I'd probably go with "leave the pieces" by the wreckers.
if you get this and feel like it, answer with three random facts about yourself and send it to the last seven blogs in your notifs! anon or not, doesnāt matter, letās get to know the person behind the blog <3
oh this is such a sweet idea, thanks friend!
hmm 3 random facts:
i'm a sensitive little crab aka. a cancerian š¦
i'm a quasi-elite pole dancer (i say quasi because on a bad day i demote myself) - my favourite tricks are flips off the static pole but i'm a spin girlie at heart š
my coffee order is a strong oat milk latte or a long black/americano, depending on how much caffeine i need āļø
tell me three facts about yourself! i'm intruiged!
We've seen Alex's reaction to Henry ghosting him, but what do you think Henry's reaction would be to Alex suddenly ghosting Henry?
Ooooh that is a good question.
I think it would depend of the timing ? If instead of the Lake House they were in London and Alex had left, I think Henry would have try to reach him at first but at some point would have given up and withdraw into himself. The romantic in me would like to think he fought for them like Alex did, but I don't think he would have at that point. He would have resign himself to be left alone once more.
That being said I don't think Alex is the ghosting kind because of his abandonment issues (at least in the book). But it would be a nice "what if" to explore.
Having a spectacularly shitty day, so if you're taking prompts, I'd love to read anything with one of the boys taking care of the other after a bad day..
Iām so sorry your day was so horrible. Iām also sorry I couldnāt write this straight away, but I still hope that it helps a bit now.Ā
Not betaād, because I wanted to post it as soon as possible.Ā
Sending you love and positive vibes!Ā

Buddie - Hurt/Comfort - Pre-Relationship
***
Buck feels wrecked as he opens the door to his apartment. His shoulders are tight, his jaw clenched, his chest aching. Heās trying to keep everything inside of him, tries to keep it from spilling over. He thinks that maybe one crack is enough to tear him wide open right now, so he just tries to go through the motions on autopilot in an attempt to hold himself together.Ā
Heās so fixated on not breaking down that he doesnāt even realize the lights are on as he steps through the door. Doesnāt hear the quiet buzz of the television in the background. So fixated on nothing until Eddie steps into view and then heās the only thing Buck can see. Like so very often.Ā
āEddie?ā Buck asks, his bag slipping from his shoulder, falling onto the floor with a dull thud.Ā
āBobby called,ā Eddie says softly, like that explains everything, though maybe it does?Ā
It wouldnāt have taken a genius to see that Buck has had a rough shift - shifts without Eddie are never as fun but this one was particularly bad - so of course Bobby called Eddie and filled him in. Of course Eddie came over so Buck wouldnāt have to be alone. He canāt even be mad at Bobby, itās not going behind his back, itās having his back. And they always do.Ā
Buck just nods, ducking his head as he looks at the floor. The air is a little bit more breathable when Eddie is around.Ā
āWhat do you need?ā Eddie asks.Ā
Buck lets out a puff of air. Eddie doesnāt ask him if heās okay, and itās just one of the many reasons why Buck loves him. God, he loves him so much that sometimes it hurts. Right now though, everything hurts except his love for Eddie.Ā Ā
āI donāt know,ā Buck answers truthfully, rubbing his hand over his arm absentmindedly. His arms feel weird somehow, like pins and needles but not really. Like itās only in his mind. Maybe thatās just how arms feel when someone dies in them.Ā
He knows that Eddie is aware of what happened, but Eddie doesnāt say it wasnāt Buckās fault. Buck already knows, and that Eddie would never blame him either. But it doesnāt really matter right now. The outcome is still the same.Ā
āCome here,ā Eddie says, curling his hand around Buckās elbow and leading him towards the couch. He grabs a bottle of water from the table on the way over, a bottle Eddie must have had at the ready for him.Ā
He guides Buck down on the couch, puts the bottle in his hands.Ā
āYou need to drink,ā he says, like he knows Buck hasnāt thought about hydrating in a few hours. The cap is already unscrewed and the gesture is so small yet so meaningful that Buck wants to cry.Ā
As Buck brings the bottle to his lips, Eddie crouches down in front of him, untying Buckās shoelaces.Ā
āYou donāt have to,ā Buck says after swallowing down a few sips.Ā
āI know,ā Eddie says, but he continues anyway, slipping Buckās shoes off for him and setting them down next to the couch.Ā
When Buck is done drinking, Eddie takes the bottle and puts it on the coffee table before sitting down next to him in the corner of the couch. He has a blanket in his hands that Buck doesnāt know where he found it. Did Eddie come over here armed with blankets and support?Ā Ā
āCāmere,ā Eddie says softly, opening up his arms for Buck to fit into.Ā
Buck wants to say Eddie doesnāt need to do this, that Buck doesnāt need a babysitter, that Eddie doesnāt need to waste his time taking care of a full grown man. But Eddie offers so freely and Buck has no resistance left, so he tucks his legs up on the couch beside him and leans down, resting his head on Eddieās chest and he breathes.Ā
Eddieās arms curl around Buck, draping the blanket over him as they do so and Buckās eyes glance over at the tv. The sound is so low he canāt hear whatās being said, but he doesnāt care. It makes for just enough white noise that it can drown out the voices in his head for a bit. The tension in his shoulders starts to loosen a bit. Eddieās protecting touch removes the weight on them.
āDo you want to talk?ā Eddie asks, his hand on Buckās arm, gently rubbing up and down, chasing away the pins and needles.Ā
Buck takes a moment to think, allows himself to press the side of his face a little closer into the soft fabric of Eddieās shirt. If he focuses, he can hear Eddieās heartbeat over the soft hum of the television.Ā
āYou donāt have to,ā Eddie reassures him, resting his head against Buckās.Ā
āI donāt know what to say,ā Buck admits after a moment of silence in which Eddie doesnāt push. Doesnāt expect anything from Buck.Ā
āThatās okay,ā Eddie says, his hand coming up until his fingers can rest in Buckās hair, scraping gently against his scalp. āWe can just sit here.āĀ
Buck nods against Eddieās chest, grateful. Eddie smells like fabric softener and home.Ā
āIām here,ā Eddie says, and it feels like everything. Eddieās here if Buck wants to talk, or if he doesnāt want to talk. Eddieās here to lean on, to allow Buck to feel how he feels, to hold him. Eddie is here for Buck, like he always is. Like they always are for each other.Ā
Within the safety and warmth of Eddieās arms, Buck feels protected and unjudged. He doesnāt have to pull himself together, doesnāt have to snap out of it. He is allowed to be himself, and it shouldnāt be a new realization because Eddie has always been that for him, but a sob escapes Buckās throat anyway, unguarded, and Eddie pulls Buck a little closer to him.Ā
Buck closes his eyes and presses his face into Eddieās chest, his arms snaked around Eddieās body. Tears are falling freely now, absorbed by Eddieās shirt, his sobs hushed by the soft tones of Eddieās voice against the top of Buckās head.Ā
Buckās day is still awful, and all the bad things that happened still happened and even Eddieās embrace canāt take that away.Ā
But somehow having Eddie makes even the horrible days feel a little less horrible.Ā

The thing is, Eddie's always known he had more than a passing interest in men.
The thing is, Eddie's always known he had more than a passing interest in men.
Just because he and Shannon got way serious before he really had a chance to explore that interest didn't mean that Eddie didn't have eyes.
It always kind of felt like there was a hole missing in the timeline of his life. A big black stormy spot in his history where he'd been sheltered in a life that he loved but didn't get to go outside and feel the air charged with electricity on his skin as he searched the sky for lightning bolts.
Coming to LA had felt like a fresh start in a similar story where he was sheltering in place from the storm with a new but familiar story.
Then he met Buck and it was like he was struck by lightning.
Send Me One Sentence and Iāll Write the Next Five
these dumbasses are SO NERVOUS and for WHAT. theyāve already been on dates and they just had no idea!!! but theyāre at a fancy french restaurant that buck picked because heās trying to WOO eddie dammit, and they donāt know what anything on the menu means and itās justā¦itās so much. but then the waiter brings the bread basket over and they both reach for the same piece at the same time and like itās not that funny?? but they both laugh and break whatever nerves they had and decide to ditch and get tacos from the truck near eddieās house instead. they walk on the beach and hold hands and talk and talk and talk and when they kiss itās salty and spicy and so damn perfect
Woke Up Married, posted and ongoing as found and lost on ao3.Ā Unfortunately I donāt think Iāve written anything new since the last time I posted a snippet (which was inconveniently the day I gave myself a concussion a month ago).Ā But, itās an AU in which Shannon died while Eddie was still deployed and he ended up coming home instead of going through the events of Eddie Begins, Buck is still in his lost phase not sure what to do with his life, and they meet in Vegas when Eddie goes for a friendās bachelorette week and wind up married...what happens next is anyoneās guess.Ā
