Ooohh oh might be a little rough but we’re gonna try. Prob gonna diverge a bit from canon but we’ll try to get that grumpy Jon I love in here
Edit: I am writing something else for jontim bc I’m so stupid and can’t read apparently
Martin had come in for the third time that day with a fresh cup of tea for Jon, and while Jon didn’t mind it, he was happy to have something to drink as he was mindlessly doing the things he needed to get done, today wasn’t it. He didn’t mean to snap at Martin, really he didn’t. But the look of surprise on Martin’s face after Jon snapped at him to leave him be for the day, was something he felt guilty about as he continued his work.
Finally, after he had finished all he needed to get done for the day, late as it was already, he got up and gathered his things to take home. Jon was a little shocked upon seeing Martin still there as he passed by the breakroom most of them used down in the archives.
“Martin... What are you still doing here?” Jon asks as he stands in the doorway, coat draped over his arm as he looked in at Martin standing at the kettle. Martin jumps a bit and Jon winces, not meaning to surprise the man. Martin blinks at him for a moment before finally coming to and speaking.
“Oh hell. I didn’t realize, is it that late already?” Martin asks, because he knew it had to be late if Jon was finally leaving for the day. Jon nods.
“Get caught up in some work?” Jon asks, tilting his head a bit. Martin nods sheepishly.
“Getting some things filed away and stuff like that, thought it was still early.” He chuckles.
“Well it’s time to head home, both of us. Grab your things and we can walk out together.” Martin makes a little surprised voice in the back of his throat but nods, turning off the kettle, before walking back to his desk and gathering things to take home. Jon is still in the hallway waiting for him. They both start their ways out of the building.
“Martin I apologize for snapping at you earlier.” Jon starts, a little bashful. “Work has been hell, as we both know.”
“No no. I get it, we all have our moments honestly, things have been weird lately, I think we’re all a bit out of it.” Martin sighs. “But thank you for apologizing.”
“It’s the least I can do.” Jon shrugs as they both exit the building, and Jon bumps his shoulder against Martin’s, who looks at him in shock a bit. “Have a good night, Martin.”
“You too Jon.” Martin says, giving the other man a shy smile.
