I know I don't have many followers, but this felt like important news to share. By reading my short little bio everyone can know that I'm nonbinary, but what you won't know is that I just had my top surgery on June 8th with Dr. Steinwald in Golden, Colorado. I'm the happiest I've ever been in my body since puberty, and while I have been dealing with some frustration and sadness due to my limited range of motion and the fact that I can't work out, I'm doing amazing. I had my surgery on Monday morning and somehow managed to get my drains out Thursday morning. The drains were really my only source of discomfort - after they were removed, I've had virtually no pain. I wanted to share my experience because I'm nonbinary, and I want other nonbinary people to know that this is possible. With Steinwald's informed consent model, I wasn't required to have a letter from a therapist. I have not been on T, not do I ever plan to be. I have never worn a binder due to asthma concerns. While it does come at a hefty price, to me it's so, so worth it to feel at home in my body. I have a few pictures from my first week post-op, but I'm not sure if I'm completely comfortable posting those for the world to see. Please feel free to message me privately if you have any questions, or if you'd like to see my pictures!

My dad has been with me since day 1.
Even though we've had our ups and downs, and he's still getting used to my name and pronouns, he has never been shy or embarrassed about me. He is also the least self conscious person I know (which results in terrible fashion choices...). As much as he annoys me sometimes, I'm always grateful to have his 100% support.

nakie, week and a half post op
Hi! I'm sorry for the invasive question coming up... How do you feel about your results with Steinwald? I've been considering top with him, but I also have heard he leaves in more tissue than other surgeons, and the sensation isn't worth the price. What do you think abt that? I'm asking this Q to the blogs that have had top surgery with him, so I can see how ppl feel about him overall. Thank you for your time!! You don't have to answer this if you don't want to, no pressure!
I am extremely happy with my choice to go with Dr Steinwald. My whole journey with top surgery, from Day 0 to my 5-year post op is documented in my transition timeline: https://neutrois.me/about/transition/
It’s true that inverted t-anchor leaves a little more tissue in than a traditional DI, but that is precisely why I chose this technique. I wanted a bit more contour to my chest, since I do not like the “total flat” aesthetic. To me it just feels like a more natural look. Of course, this is personal preference.
Also keep in mind that even with the same technique results will vary from surgeon to surgeon - it really depends on their experience and personal style.
FYI - from Dr Mosser’s Gender Confirmation FAQ, if your surgeon says they will remove 100% of tissue, then you should probably think twice:
Does FTM chest masculinization surgery remove 100% of breast tissue?
No. A little tissue is always left over to retain the contour of the chest – otherwise your chest would look concave. This is one big difference between FTM Chest Masculinization and a mastectomy due to breast cancer.
The weekend is just around the corner and we recommend a trip to the Weißenstein ruins today. It is located in the Steinwald and it takes about an hour to get there by car. But it's worth it, because not only the ruins themselves are worth a visit. The view from there to the south in the Upper Palatinate is almost spectacular. 📷©️: @witzi75 #fichtelgebirge #traumtag #steinwald #wander #porzellanstraße #wispertrails #hiking #zeitzumgenießen #followmeto #naturepleasure #sommerindeutschland #romantik #outdoors #todo #gooutside #resilience #earthfocus #exploremore #natureseekers #aroundtheworld #discoverglobe #wanderlust #bayern #franken #15cities #magicalplace #travelgram #ig_travelmind #bucketlist #rock (hier: Ruine Weißenstein) https://www.instagram.com/p/CR8rVEYq6ke/?utm_medium=tumblr
