Yeah I would not have been able to make my way through La Tumba without my beautiful and wonderful Argentinian friend who I book-clubbed with. We spent like two hours each month just marinating in brain juices together while we went "wait, wait I think we are connecting the dots, WAIT I THINK I SEE THEMES".

His heart clenches and pulses inside of his ribs like someone is squeezing it, invisible fingers poking into his arteries and flesh.

He feels it rattle his teeth, scorching his tongue and trailing liquid fire down his face, each heaving breath another battle to fight against as his ribs shudder with the strain not to fly apart and splinter onto the bathroom floor.

My mom gets overwhelmed by card games very easily, but due to extended family poor health we spent a lot of time waiting in airports and playing King's in the Corner (A multipleyer solitaire). The rules are simple and the pacing slow enough that my mom can keep up, but there's enough strategy to keep the rest of us engaged. That "strategy" involves hoarding key cards and my mom likes to joke with us and accuse us all of cheating when we do hoard

oh interesting! i haven’t heard of king’s corner, but for a bit my family was really into that computer game spider solitaire and my mother would literally play it for hours at night. how did y’all come to find out about that game specifically?

also hehe accusing others of cheating was like a staple of our family games of pounce. the younger kids obviously were cheating, but also we often tried to give them easier rules to play by since there are like three different moving parts to managing your game setup.

Cheat was really big with my family when I was younger

oh is that an alternate name for BS? i find it neat that certain games have so many different names and iterations. did you all play it at family gatherings or just in your immediate family? did you like playing it yourself? i’m personally not fond of playing BS, just because i’m a bad bluffer and strategist haha!

oh i haven’t heard of skipbo! i looked it up a little and it’s one of those specifically branded/packaged card games as opposed to ones with playing cards yeah? how did y’all come to know about it?

not myself, but my friend's family plays Scopa, the italian card game CONSTANTLY, its been passed down generation to generation

oh that’s really cool! wikipedia calls it “one of the two major national card games in Italy,” that’s pretty prestigious. i’ve never seen an italian deck, i like how illustrative the example ones on the wiki look!

my family always plays card games together! mostly shanghai rummy. we've been playing it since i was a kid

i don’t think i’ve ever played that iteration! my immediate family and i have a practice of playing a version of gin rummy while waiting for food when we’re dining out on vacation haha! do you have any specific memories of a game?

Yup, some game called "amazing grace" we'd always play at all our family gatherings haha

google turns nothing up for yours! interesting, a mysterious last card game!! it’s a bit hard to describe or understand card games without a demonstration imo, but do you have any comparisons for it? did someone specific in the family teach everyone? my aunt is the one who taught us all pounce, it’s something she learned from her college roommate.

Agreed! I always love how different each character is, both within each game and between each game.

GOODNESS, CONGRATS!!! as for your question, i prioritize supports over almost everything lol, the amount of times i've made battles drag on and on (and on) just for the perfect support set-ups is uh. questionable. but i really love seeing everyone interact and having an army in which everyone is friends ;~;

but tbh ever since playing final fantasy tactics advance as a kid i've been in love with strategy games even though i don't actually play many (i don't get around to playing much games period), so that's a huge factor too

Haha, you’re not alone with the supports. I also spend way too much time on them, and it was probably the feature I found most interesting when I started into this series. Like, funny conversations between units for better stats in battle? What a concept!

Congratulations!!! My first experience was with the fire emblem awakening and I loved it so much I played it twice in one afternoon. That evening, I dreamed about the game interface and moving the characters on the tactics maps, so needless to say I love love love the strategy. Having each character have a distinct personality is an added bonus, but I love resting over and over and memorizing enemy patterns to get a victory. I feel smart!....even if its not on lunatic+

That’s awesome! Yeah, strategizing is a lot of fun, more fun than I thought it would be. And lol, yeah, I don’t even want to imagine what Lunatic+ is like.

Congrats!!! I haven't played fates yet (I'm from Europe ��) I like FE a lot for it's characters. They're so unique and well written. I started with path of radiance and was completely blown away by how good the story is. It's still my favourite, but the games have improved a lot over those years, giving each game their unique strong points.

For fruit teas, with lots of sugar. For everything else, just plain.

Hahaha, I don’t have so much a favorite outfit as I just... wear some variation of T-shirt and pants all the time. xD

In the winter, I like it with my big, black winter coat and a giant scarf. And, in the summer, I... basically look like Solas. Dark green linen pants and some light cardigan/tunic deal. It is comfy, though!
