Your internet still isn’t up? That’s horrible; I’m so sorry to hear that, my friend. I think that dropping your characters until everything is good to go is the best thing to do; we don’t want you keeping a character in reserve continuously just in the possible hope that your internet comes back. That wouldn’t be fair to yourself, nor others who might wish to play those characters. It is my hope that you rejoin us when things are better on your end. Roleplay has become the itch you can’t scratch thanks to these internet problems! A few of us have experiences “technical difficulties” like that one, and I assure you, we’re just as angry as you are! I’ve extended their hiatus another week, so now you’ve got until January 18th to pester the heck out of your internet provider. Hopefully we’ll see you back then. Don’t lose hope!

( this song – it was from high speed! starting days and god im such a weeb for selecting this song, but you know what: the tone and sound of the song makes me associate this song with Red. Not only is high speed (or free in general i suppose?) about growing up and the pains and joys of it, this song does too (mostly the pains of it and over coming it, i guess?) and at the moment, that’s what Red’s doing – growing up (even though society already sees him as an adult). finding out who he is and where exactly he’s supposed to be in life (because, by now, we all know my take on Red is about this kid who went up on mt. silver mostly to escape from everything than to train)

15. What kind of inner life do they have — rich and imaginative? Calculating and practical? Full of doubts and fears? Does it find any sort of outlet in their lives?
Maxie: His life is full of doubt and fear and whilst he portrays a stoic and nonchalant facade, internally, he is in turmoil. He tries to remove this doubt and fear by focusing his life on research into geological formations, wherein he is deeply respected. Though the respect he has earned has yet to fully assuage the doubt and craving he has for a caring person/relationship.
18. What kind of person could they become in the future? What are some developmental paths that they could take, (best, worst, most likely?) what would cause them to come to pass, and what consequences might they have? What paths would you especially like to see, and why?
Fontaine: Hoo boy, this is going to be a long one.
Fontaine originally started out as a character in a play of mine that I wrote for an assignment. I really liked where he was going and decided to RP him, but in a Pokémon-esque context. In the play itself, he was an art curator working at the Guggenheim (yes, fancy I know) and he actually murdered a person (an artist that he commissioned). The whole story was about the notion of beauty and how it plays a role in our lives. It’s largely inspired by one of my fave novels (which you should totally read) called By Nightfall, written by Michael Cunningham.
So, to answer your question now that I’ve given you some background context, I’ve never really thought much about it; I kinda just made it up as I went along. Now that I have to give it thought in order to answer your question, he could probably become a more caring person once he meets someone that’s able to change him. I have no intention of turning him into a murderer like I did in my play but I’ve kept the rest of his personality traits.
So to start, he’s pretty arrogant and a backstabby type of person and as such could develop into more worse traits. This could be caused to further develop by people he deems unworthy or people who have hurt him deeply (more of the latter; though he’ll never admit it). He could, in this unlikely vein, polish off his competitors and pretend nothing ever happened. Though I would seriously not like this happen to him.
He could also turn 180 and become really kind, though that would be really uncharacteristic of him to turn so quickly on a dime. If he does find someone that’s able to change him like that, which is also unlikely, he would probably live a more peaceful life. What I would like to see, however, is a sort-of balance between his kinder aspects and his less-than-noteworthy traits as I think it is important that he is flawed, so yeah, that’s where I want him to go because I think he deserves it most.
