Like most dimensions, it started with the Science Fair. And like most dimensions, there was an accident. An accident that set off a chain reaction of events that eventually led to the destruction of Earth. However, unlike most dimensions, The Axolotl gave one Stanford Filbrick Pines the gift of premonition at birth for reasons unknown.
The Stanford Filbrick Pines of Dimension 419”3 was destined to build something much, much bigger than himself that would connect hundreds upon thousands of Dimensions and change the multiverse for the better.
Or, Dimension Traveler Old Man Ford nabs Mullet Stan from his dimension and proceeds to aggressively take care of him.

Does Watchdog Ford take a physical form in the afterlife? You keep mentioning that him, Lee, and Stanley will all reunite after death, what is that like exactly? I suppose what I'm asking is how the afterlife works in this AU.
The Axolotl is the all-powerful entity of this AU and, since it has a soft spot for Watchdog Ford, it collected the souls of Watchdog Ford and his loved ones after death and put them in an oasis so they can all spend eternity together. And in physical form too, because that's the only way that the human mind can comprehend looking at someone's soul is if it takes on the shape of the person. Basically, the Axolotl showed Watchdog Ford and those he considered family favoritism and made a little pocket of paradise for their souls. Watchdog Ford's brother has been waiting there since death, agonizing over what to say to a brother who spent decades without him (who Stan may no longer recognize) and how to apologize for giving up.
