For anyone who liked Static Shock (2000), but didn't read the original Static (1993) comic, please know that Virgil, Rick (Richie), and Frieda (and a few other comic exclusive friends) used to get together regularly and play table top RPGs together and I hope this knowledge brings you joy like it did me.
(Iirc Daisy joins them later, but idr if she played or just hung out with them sometimes)

The Static comic really just whole ass did the disposable Black girlfriend trope with her and its just... even with a Black comic company we can't escape that shit.
Definitely comic Virgil pulling a Ben Tennyson with her is one of the reasons why I don't fucking like the comic version of Virgil Hawkins, at least his initial incarnation, at all. Just gave fuckboy vibes.

as much as Richie Foley/Gear is my fav, I would rather they'd merged him with Rick Stone than the replacement they did in the recent comics.
Entirely because Rick Stone had way more style than Richie. And I would have loved to see a more ballet influenced Gear.

Someone working on Static Shock and deciding to work the Capers, Inc. gang into the show really seemed to hate how... of the 3 of those fuckers [Run, Jump, and Burn] only one of them had a name that matched their fucking powers.
Which, respectable, there's a reason why supernames tend to mean shit in regards to powers or personality.
That would make Richie/Push something around Burn's equivalent in the adaptation as the would be heavy hitter of the group if he'd not turned on Ragtag, Run, and Jump.

Actually, Anansi [Static Shock] has the same character design as The Scarlet Scarab [Static 1993] just sans the facial hair, sword, and trusty hound companion.
Which is a neat detail.
