We all have a responsibility to comply with the rules, especially those that are in place to help keep our kids safe. Stop signs and passing buses when utilized is a no go, and our kids lives depend on all of us complying with this. Keep an extra eye out for kids walking to and from their bus stops as this may be the first year back to in person school for them. They will be full of excitement, and possibly forget to double check before crossing the road. As Avery prepares to start grade 6, we spent time this summer practicing his short walk to the bus stop. We showed him which left turn to take, which road to cross and where his bus stop location is. We taught and observed his ability to stop at the cross walk, check both ways to make sure it’s clear, then proceed across the road. We taught him that his bus will park in a certain direction, and to make sure you walk clear from the bus before crossing the road so he is always able to check for vehicles himself. We also taught him the importance of looking out for little kids that may not be as experienced around buses. As the school year starts, let’s ensure we are all doing our part to keep our kids safe. Have a safe day and let’s create a pivotal impact! #SchoolSafety #StartofSchool #SchoolBusSafety #PVTL #TruckFocus (at Calgary, Alberta) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTPcsLBFoic/?utm_medium=tumblr
