Do you ever just create an AU and then forget about it for a couple of months?

Okay, to explain this one in short:

X-Tale was created and existed before the apple incident in Dreamtale. After it was destroyed, Ink found Cross in the void that was left from his AU and decided that it would be better to drop him off in some universe without a proper timeline so that he doesn't go insane and/or cause problems.

After being brought to Dreamtale, Cross finds himself in the village, surrounded by a crowd of confused people, who suddenly have so many colors to them, who kind of explain him where he is. But since it's Dreamtale villagers we're talking about, after finding out that Cross was a royal guard, they ask him to save them and get rid of the "monster" that lives by the Tree of feelings and is a great threat.

Cross agrees to help them, but when he gets to the said three, there is just some weak-looking sitting by it reading a book. Cross starts a conversation with him, and eventually comes to the conclusion that he just can't be that "monster" the villagers talked about, since he doesn't seem dangerous at all, and when Dream gets back from the village, he gets even more confused. Especially when he's rather aggressively shoved away from Nightmare, and which is not too surprising, considering that he has all this armor on and two daggers on his belts, making him look a bit threatening.
