I “checked myself in” for a 3-day private Silent Retreat this week. As I clipped that badge to my shirt “Shh, I’m on a Silent Retreat” at the monastery, I focused my heart, mind, and soul on stillness. I wanted to experience Jesus in a new way. Here are a few of the reflections silence brought: 1)your other senses are enhanced 2)it allows you time & energy to not only ask yourself the big life questions, but to hash them out 3)it opens your mind to realize how much you complain & gossip 4)it causes you to pray. Nonstop 5)it stirs up old bitterness & resentments you thought you were over 6)when you adore Jesus, you’re humbled to feel HOW MUCH JESUS ADORES YOU 7)perspective becomes clearer 8)you come to a sense of peace in who you are - who He designed and destined you to be. Suddenly the things of this world grow strangely dim 9)you feel the sense of time more presently 10)Jesus breaks chains!!! (More on dis later😊) 11)people come to mind to pray for you wouldn’t have thought of otherwise 12)it’s a catalyst for change! 13)it makes you miss mom and dad 14)everyone should try silence for a specific, extended period of time 15)your heart changes 16)it pushes you out of your comfort zone 17)once you introduce talking again, your pace immediately increases Aaaand 9 more reflections on my bloggy-poo!!☺️ Breakthroughs happen when we create space for God to work in our hearts, fam!!
