The one character I'm having an absolute mother of a time writing is Stan. I just know I'm going to end up rewriting all his dialogue half a dozen times before I get it right.
Assholes who are unaware of their asshole status and totally believe that they're in the right are my jam but assholes who are fully aware of their assholery and continue to engage in it...yeah, those are harder to write for me. >.<
Asshole Sinclair is also kind of tricky for me to get into but nowhere near the difficulty of Stan??
The weird thing was that Ryan was so easy to write...after spending years seeing him as one of the less relatable characters in the franchise.
Does that mean I'm more Ryan-like than Stan-like?? I don't know if that's a good thing?!? D-=
STANLEY POOLE
"So I met with Sinclair today, of 'Sinclair Solutions'. And he's got work for me, right? He flashes me these thousand-dollar Steinman teeth, sayin' this job will 'change history'..."
A self-described "ace newsman" who once worked for the Rapture Tribune, Stanley was employed by Andrew Ryan to infiltrate the Rapture Family - Lamb's organization. His charge was to find proof of Lamb's collectivist ideas beneath the veneer of private religion, and to sabotage her in any way he could along the way. Over time, he became involved in far more aggressive tactics against dissidents in Rapture.
But when Ryan was killed, Stanley found himself imprisoned within that lie, and has worked for Lamb ever since. Now, he seeks to hide the evidence of his crimes against her, and has enlisted Subject Delta to help him ensure that his past stays buried.
Sweet Jesus … Lamb knew? And she just let me hang myself out to … oh god … now-now-now c'mon pal, the train's ready, just … just let me live!
Subject Delta, I have known for years of Stanley's betrayal here, and had forgiven him. But in compromising Eleanor now … he seals his fate. You see, it was Stanley who turned you in to Ryan. He is responsible for what you have become. The security booth is open now … you may have your revenge.

Well, hello, boys! The name's Stan Poole — Rapture Tribune. Quality paper … before the locals stopped readin' and started findin' uh… other use for it. Anyways, I'm looking to cut a deal here, fellas. Come by the train station, I'm here in the booth.
this is not a ‘be nice to Stan’ zone =‘)
