Gr.I Winner Mo Town Retired

Multiple graded stakes winner Mo Town has been retired from racing after sustaining an injury during training at Belmont Park. The horses tore a ligament in his left foreleg during a routine gallop. Mo Town will stand the 2019 season at Ashford Stud in Kentucky.

The four-year-old bay horse won two graded stakes events: the Gr.II Remsen Stakes on dirt as a juvenile and the Gr.I Hollywood Derby on turf as a sophomore. In his lone start this year, he finished third in the Danger’s Hour Stakes at Aqueduct, a race he was using as a prep for the Gr.I Man O’ War this month. 

The son of Uncle Mo (out of Grazie Millie, by Bernardini) retires with a record of 10: 4-1-2 and earnings of $519,600.
