The Blue Bird
The Blue Bird is a very symbolic play. It basically tells a fantasy story of a pair of siblings’ journey in seeking for the bluebird and happiness. In the end, they learned that true happiness lies in simple things, particularly in the warmth of family love. (online script: https://www.gutenberg.org/files/8606/8606-h/8606-h.htm#link2H_4_0003)
The uniqueness of this play is that it the majority of the characters are personified concepts and creatures; Such as night, light, dog, sickness, and silence. Each character has it’s own personality and appearance. This allows me to expand my creative vision and test the limit of the personification of concepts. Moreover, settings of the scenes are also very distinctive, and each has different moods, and styles.
