Disappointment and failure, mixing up each drug and coping mechanism in hopes of finding a real one. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure that they’re prescribed, so you can write off the deviation with social acceptability. Huh? It’s easier to point the finger when there isn’t peer pressure to justify medication. We rely on systems to tell us what’s right. I’m too young to be an expert. We’re too wild to trust with keys. You’re too wise to let us ruin decades of sacrifice. Yet, when we put on uniforms before 21 to defend this nation, no one complains. When life forces us to have children, rather than sacrifice them, society tells us we are adults. When you’re not around and our demons try to bury us, they don’t wait until we turn 18. Been there, done that . . . It’s convenient to blame past generations when ignoring that they are children too. Blame profits everyone temporarily. However, it destroys forever. I cannot run away from a fire.
