. 🎨 Paint Me an Absence 🧑🏻‍🎨 #yuumei What else was I supposed to do? The way her eyes broke me and breath caught me, I didn’t really have a choice. Knees feeling weak and plans out the window, I leapt out of the plane to fall with her. Nothing in the bank account and a head full of doubts, I couldn’t walk away from her light. So, we drove ourselves over the edge into something perfect. Five hundred miles from home, we found ourselves together. When it was time to let her go, I didn’t know how I’d be able to continue. But, the way she looked at him convinced me that she gave me enough of herself. So, I faked a smile and thanked her for the adventure. We don’t really talk so much anymore. But, she ended up being more than a few women. Each kept me wondering what else could be out there. Not every experience ended without strife. Most of the time, I swore to myself that I’d hide away forever for sanity’s sake. But, the heart wants what it wants. We don’t choose our partners at first, temporary or permanent . . . Something inside forces our hands. Surely, some of us will find that soulmate. Others find out that those connections don’t have to be more than platonic. All I can grasp is that we’re better off letting people touch us. The beauty hiding beneath each flaw and giggle can’t be studied, purchased, or found internally. Social beings meant for each other, this world just can’t stop crashing us into each other to synthesize storylines founding the meaning of life. Most of us have more scar tissue than can be seen physically. All of us need to heal. I guess that’s what it means to be happy. Colliding with imperfect creatures who are willing to walk the road with us for a few minutes, years, and eternities. Is it factual? I don’t know. Whatever. You only live once (YOLO). I didn’t think it would come to this. So many times, I tried to sabotage trust by playing the village idiot. Yet, they saw right through the antics and ushered me past my damaged ego. Different year, same method, I’ll keep trying to divert attention. My motive has always been primal. I’d rather not go too deep into it. Let’s just say that I enjoy watching people win. Anyways, psychology has proven to be more for enlightened introspection, serving as a vehicle to repair the ligaments and digestive system of my human psyche. Sociology, on the other hand, has given me more weapons than I can put to words. It often feels like areas where there are long gaps between connectivity are being bridged. Faces of existentialism which were purely cerebral are becoming romantic. Most of this stems from my need to be loved. Call me weird, but that desire runs deeper than the mind of divinity. Thankfully, their heart has no end. Anyways, I apologize for my religious bias. I’m working on it. Back to the nonsense … Purple and blue are my favorite colors. Watching cat videos calm me down. It’s not that I hate drugs. I have relationships which necessitate sobriety. Just don’t count the socially acceptable stimulant known as caffeine. Let’s not talk about how much of that I ingest to function. Anyways … DISTRACTION! Anything can be fixed with redirection and laughter. That’s what I learned through counseling. Many say that those who needed help make the best helpers. Well, damn, I must be a natural at that stuff because there’s always someone pulling me out of a fire. Am I serious?
