biography
Born and raised in Greenwich, CT, William Alexander McIntosh, IV had everything he couldâve wished for. A ridiculously expensive home with high ceilings, marble floors, a dock for their boats and a wine cellar he could raid whenever without fear of punishment? Check, check, check. The McIntoshâs have long come from old money and are all seemingly Yale alumni - they often donate to their alma mater, but no one will confirm or deny whether or not thereâs an actual wing dedicated to their family. Money could actually buy happiness, much to the chagrin of those who worked under them.
Although William would rather go by anything but Biff, it was a nickname given to him by his grandfather - the one person who seemingly paid attention to him and wasnât too busy to teach him about life outside of Greenwich. He loved his grandfather and cared for him more than anyone else in his family so when his grandfather died, William - Biff - was at a loss, feeling lonely and neglected as both his mother and father chose to worry about work than about their son. It was freshman year in high school when he passed away, and Biff quickly decided to rebel - drinking, partying, neglecting his schoolwork, even almost failing the school year all around. Because of that, William and Elizabeth decided to send him to study elsewhere, with family members away from the glamorous life he led in Connecticut.
William McKinley high school was no joke, unfortunately, and it took Biff some time to get used to going to public school rather than board school in the Northeast. At first, he was a little too used to the glitz and the glamour back home - he was still living in the nicest part of town, but it wasnât the same. He knew that if he wanted to fit in and actually be liked rather than be known as the âdouchey rich dudeâ, that he needed to dress down a little, talk without acting as if he was a part of the 1%, and join some extracurriculars. Still, he does flaunt his money from time to time - throwing extravagant parties, asking his friends if theyâd join him on vacations, taking some to the biggest sports games of the week.
What was once a punishment soon became something that gave him clarity. Of course once graduation came around, he would go back to Connecticut and start school at Yale - but at least he was able to learn from the experience. No longer was he someone that needed his parentâs validation, and he didnât need them in order to be happy. As much as he thought he would hate public school, he does enjoy it there⌠even though heâs still sometimes seen as the âdouchey rich dudeâ, especially since he looks down upon the ones who enjoy Glee Club.
