“Hey,  Sadie, wait, ”   he doesn’t pause,  he knows if he does it’s likely that she’ll either try to avoid him or lash out in anger.   “Look,  I uh.. just wanted to say sorry ‘bout...”  now he does trail off,  hesitates, but he’s quick to recover. “The gang I was runnin’ with was wiped out by the O’Driscolls.
