Squirrels! I would have a lot more respect for this kind of theft if they at least had let it ripen. But to take a bite and leave it....  Squirrels 3, me 0.

09/02/20 My pal the squirrel has been gnawing on my prize squash. I sprinkled some coffee grounds around, supposedly they don’t like the smell. We’ll see what happens.

08/22/20 Planted a couple of new lavender starter plants to make up for the ones the squirrel took. I’ve not given up on the lavender field of dreams yet. I chose the Phenomenal variety for these, seems like the type that is doing the best around here so far. The top photo features a Phenomenal lavender planted about a month or so ago, and it’s got an 11″ spread already. The Ellegance in the middle has not fared well.
