Sometimes you get an unexpected visitor during the evening when the vacancy light is on. This little baby opossum was looking for a safe place to rest and happened to find refuge in an empty box. After a long night of exploring, it seems he decided that a warm, sheltered home was far better than sleeping out in the open. Opossums are often misunderstood, but they are one of nature’s most helpful little animals. They rarely cause trouble, help clean up the environment, and spend their nights quietly searching for food while avoiding conflict whenever possible. Despite their unusual appearance, they are gentle creatures simply trying to find their place in the world. For one evening at least, this little traveller found a comfortable place to call home.
