it's crazy being super into vocaloid and having BEEN super into vocaloid for so long because it isn't really an exact genre of music yet it's treated as such....vocaloid isn't a genre as much as it is a program. vocaloid music can technically mean anything. there was a whole dramatic opera that was played completely straight and just so happened to have miku. does that make it vocaloid music. of course there's always going to be some level of technology to it but there are plenty PLENTY of artists that don't just make virtual poppy stuff and even do all of their instruments live just with miku singing
