Plot:

This was not a book I would normally pick up as the plot is not something that intrigues me however, I enjoyed the path it took. It felt like it would resonate with a lot of the readers out there. The relationship between her and Sam (I've known a few Sam's), and the relationship between her and Yash and the strain it puts on the friendship between Sam and Yash.

It was unbelievable to me, however, that they spent their time on campus occupying a professors residence while he was away. And furthermore later I find it wild that they took classes in his house as well (this seems very unprofessional).

It was quick to read as Lily's of short sentences helped progress the plot however, it never felt rushed. In fact she was very good and dragging out tense moments where I was nearly screaming at the book 'JUST SAY IT!'

Characters:

Sam annoyed me. Yash felt too good to be true however, our beloved narrater just felt like a young girl trying to get through university and start ber life.

I'm glad Lily wrote the characters as she did. They mixed together wonderfully in this very real feeling of a friendgroup each with their own background, there own issues but finding solice in each others company.

Themes:

100% a coming of age story. It definetly gave me a feeling of grief, of losing those good old days and struggling to find closure.

Overall Verdict:

I'd say pretty good. I mean I did get teary eyed at the end and reading the last line felt so wholesome I can't quite explain it (it won't make sense unless you read the book but please don't last line spoiler yourself). Was let down on just a few things I found unbelievable, however, maybe this is normal in other places? Rocking up to a professors house for class? Hmm...

And some of her choices felt unrealistic based on her experiences and situation while in university.

The tension building was very good though.
