The Terrific Tales of Turn Up
So in town I’m known as Turn Up. I was there on the first day, and boy do I have some stories to tell.
- I actually played LOF on the very first day. They were having the very first land auction, and things were going crazy. RR pulled all their bits together and won. We took the deed back to the telegraph station only to discover that we had bought a mine. The 5 of us who contributed bits got like 60 bits back from the mine.
- Pineapple Pete and One Eyed Bart were strong players at the beginning of LOF, so I should have known better than to run against them for President of Rainbow Ridge, but I did anyway. About an hour before the election I realized that I was going to loose, so I took drastic measures. I went to Fantasyland and bought a pineapple spear, and took a big bite of it during the election. Needless to say I lost, but at least I lost in style.
- One day someone made a wanted poster with my face on it. I won the Rock, Paper, Scissors challenge multiple times, and at the end of the day I had almost 500 bits.
- Now Squeaky Jean’s dad may be the real Sheriff, but while he’s away his daughter fills in. This particular day I had brought some “Deputy Sheriff” pins to the park and was giving them out. Not too long after I received a telegram from the Sheriff, addressed to me, asking me to watch after Squeaky Jean that day. So I became Sub-ti-tute Sheriff, and took the rap for Squeaky Jean.
- The same day Miss Priscilla told me that Willum needed to get a job already. So I got him one of my extra Deputy Sheriff badges. I helped him with a few arrests, and for once he spent a full day outside of the bars.
-Bonds became a thing so I turned in all the extra bonds I had, and wouldn’t you know it I had 1,000 bits, so I made the biggest bond I have ever heard of.
- With my large amount of bits I went to town one day only to discover that the price of buildings in town had reset, and most of the buildings were about 250 bits each. I decided to do something about that and turned all the building in town to Rainbow Ridge yellow.
- Unity has been a word thrown around town a lot lately, and one day there was a strong movement behind it. So when standing around I suggested a unity handshake for everyone to be part of. After a few moments of brainstorming we had 12 people in a circle doing the new unity handshake
- Thinking that the game was going to end September 1st I made some thank you gifts for the cast members who had made the game fun for me. I painted the blank bits blue, and put a big H in the middle of them, and handed them out as Hero coins. I even made a couple Legend coins for Squeaky Jean and Miss Priscilla.
- Some days the town is busier than others, and I like to do my part as good citizen. I ran the jail when I was Sheriff, I ran the trading post when land sales were neck and neck. And at the time of posting this I have now worked every location, to the point that I have gained access to the bits. Not that I would ever embezzle…
- I would like to list this as my crowning achievement, throwing a wedding for 2 new players with only 3 hours notice. Town Riviera proposed to his girlfriend Jackrabbit (in real life) early in the day. Because it had happened in Frontierland, I decided they needed a wedding, so I called in some favors. We had Hon. Wanderin’ Wheely officiate, Lentil wrote a beautiful poem, Wiley performed a song, Banjo Murphy and Pineapple Pete were best men, The Fancy-full Mr. James made exceptional paper flowers, and I had custom name tags made my Opal, Dragon Lee, and Crazy Bill. Needless to say it was one of the biggest events to ever happen in that small town, and I got to take the credit as wedding planner.
