Something that I like doing with sewing is basically being a lil seamstress, so what about doing tailoring for Sonny?
Hemming trousers, attaching buttons, measuring the break of his trousers to his shoes, doing inseams, tapering his trouser legs, bring up his suit jacket arms, making sure to suppress the suit jackets at the waist to show his torso etc.
Of course I can see Sonny just saying he’ll take them somewhere else as he doesn’t want to be a bother or pain, and through a mouthful of pins you yank him away from the door lmfao

It starts when he loses a button on his dress shirt and he's about to throw it away (my friend literally did this) and you're like "no, that's stupid, let me fix it." Like you said, he doesn't want to bother you, and I think he's worried about it being demeaning (ya know like some kind of 50s housewife). But you insist that it's no trouble, find a similar button in your stash, and stitch back on.
Then he comes home one day with his jacket ripped after a tussle with a perp he's still a detective in my head don't judge me and he's about to take it to a tailor when you offer to fix it. Maybe you sew a cute little patch on the inside of the jacket that no one but him will see. That then becomes his lucky jacket.
