Robin things?
OKAY ROBIN JUST. i had no idea I needed her for steve, and then season 3 happened and just. wow. i honestly think she might be the person he’s closest with and most open with in the entire world at this point. she’s the only character we don't see him stuck in some sort of denial or subterfuge to avoid vulnerability with in all his canon, even including DUSTIN (i mostly think this is an age thing; he’s more steve’s younger brother figure than a typical “ best friend ” like robin is / becomes). i honestly think he absolutely adores robin. i don't think there’s ever a time when they’re NOT friends, and when she eventually jets off to be awesome outside hawkins, she and her excellent wife no doubt come spend holidays and regular visits with steve and his son; they also have weekly phone call “ appointments, ” which they only miss for absolute emergencies, and they always, ALWAYS immediately reschedule.

“Sorry I’m late.” Steve sighed, only just now making it into work. It had been a good hour after his shift had started, and while he wasn’t on-time everyday, it’s pretty rare for Steve to be this tardy. “The craziest thing just happened, seriously. Some dog came out of nowhere and just attacked me. No idea why. I had to clean this up before I came in.”
It wasn’t unusual for Steve to come up with some crazy excuse for being late, but this didn’t seem to be one of those cases. Rolling up the sleeve to his jacket, Steve would show his coworker an awful-looking bite an his arm.
