Sprint should get Hannah Montana as their spokesperson if they want the world to know they get the Best of Both Worlds with their service...
Fuck Sprint, seriously.
Okay so I’m currently living in a toxic, abusive situation. After it became super hostile recently, I took to facebook to talk about how my mother is abusing me.
She predictably exploded (but, I mean, I went there because the relationship had already hit rock bottom), and since we’re on a wireless family share plan with AT&T (and have been for years), she decided to kick me off that plan.
I looked around and Sprint is currently offering 1 year unlimited talk, text and data when you bring your own device. Great! (Have I mentioned I’m currently disabled with no income while I wait for the SSA to grant me disability benefits?) So I signed up online, and they shipped me a sim card.
Cue the saga of the year. I couldn’t activate it online even though I followed the instructions included with the shipped sim card perfectly. They kept trying to push me to activate it over the phone, which involved me giving them my social security number, AGAIN (I had already given it to them when I signed up online). And after Comcast fucked me over years ago with the whole agreeing to something over the phone which they then ignore and bill a higher amount, then pretend they don’t know what you’re talking about and have no record of what was discussed over the phone, I don’t fuck around with agreeing to things over the phone. I need DOCUMENTATION.
So then they told me I needed to create a Sprint account. I dutifully went down to my local Sprint store and got an account created, but they couldn’t activate the phone for me under the deal in the store, because the deal is only available online or over the phone.
Okay, fine. So I go home and the next day try again to activate the sim card. Still can’t. Every single iteration of sprint.com/[activation] I tried, every single one customer service directed me to try, I kept getting an error messsage that I do not have access to that part of the website and I need to contact the site administrator.
Queue several days of talking wtih customer support via web chat, and various levels of customer support and escalations all the way up to top tier corporate customer support, and at every single moment they kept pushing me and pushing me to activate it over the phone, regardless of how many fucking times I told them I am NOT going to activate it over the phone, I need to activate it online, which they themselves have said should be possible.
So fuck ‘em. No amount of free service is worth the fucking hassle.
I’ll stick with AT&T, thank you. At least they’ll be upfront and won’t put me through the wringer. Plus, yanno, I’ll get HBO included with my plan, so bonus.
BEWARE OF SPRINT.
Because apparently, they don’t want you as a customer, otherwise they would, yanno, MAKE IT EASY FOR YOU TO ACTUALLY BECOME A CUSTOMER.
Sprint is seriously the best wireless provider available
April fools!!! I barely get 3G, on a good day while standing next to the damn cell tower.
Who should I get cell service with? I been so used to Sprint but idk if I want to go back to them.
