staff Do you remember springme? The rebranded predecessor to formspring? I do. I remember this happy little site with a format that worked. I remember a good community that allowed you to interact with new people and carry conversations with them. Sure it wasn't perfect, some people really messed it up, but it was an enjoyable site to be on over all. Then they did exactly what you're doing. They changed everything, to the point where the site was literally unusable. Have you goggled springme lately? You should. Do you want to know what happens when you try to go to it? You get re-directed to a broken link with the broken dreams of the creators of that site. Don't think because you have seniority and an established community this will not be you a few years down the road. I've seen it happen to the best of sites. If you keep trying to run off the communities that make the backbones of this site with these awful changes, I promise you, they will move on to a better site, and you will be sitting here, staring at a broken link, wondering where it all went wrong. Spoiler alert: It's when you made all these awful and ugly changes.
Millions of Spring.me users forced onto Twoo dating service

On July 17th, Spring.me a social network based around asking and answering questions, (formerly known as Formspring) announced via an email that they’d ‘joined forces’ with a dating service renowned for it’s spammy advertising practices, Twoo.
Spring.me has joined forces with Twoo and now has 30% more charm, 40% more love and 70% more awesomeness.
And the extra cool thing? Your new Twoo account is ready for you, right now. Your important Spring.me data also made the switch! You're welcome!
- Twoo’s email to Spring.me users, expecting them to be thrilled that their data was now slapped onto a dating profile.
Because of Twoo’s track-record with spam, many users didn't, and no doubt still don't, realise that they'd been signed up to the service, due to the collection of Twoo’s emails by spam filters. Gmail’s spam filter, minus a few recent messages from Twoo, has blocked the majority of their communications.
The arguments are exploding on Twitter - as unsurprisingly, people don't like it when they're forced into a service they didn't sign up for.

Twoo has been attempting to do damage control, but users who have deleted their newly created Twoo accounts are claiming that they are still receiving emails from the service.

If you wish to delete your unwanted Twoo profile, you can follow these steps. You'll probably have to search your spam folder first to find your auto-assigned account password. Make sure you click the inconspicuous ‘continue with deletion’ link on the deletion page. I don’t know about anyone else, but I don’t use dating sites. Having a profile, created ‘for me’ by a site that’s essentially just hijacked my data from another service - that’s not a good look. - Ben
