This pretty much sums up my day today, tea and cake and... potatoes! It is raining and dull so I’m staying at home. I had to get some more coal and logs for the fire though, which forced me to go out. As I was passing my local farm shop at Woodside Flowers I saw a sign that ‘Jersey Royals here now’ - well I couldn’t just pass that by so I ended up not just getting the coal and logs that I needed but also 1lb of potatoes and a slice of chocolate Easter cake. These potatoes cost me £4 so they’re pretty expensive at the moment, these ones were grown in a poly tunnel. I always think the first new potatoes will be ready for Easter, which is this weekend but as it’s an early Easter and we’re still having cold weather, the outside growing potatoes aren’t ready yet.
